I am SO excited to share my transformation of this decrepit and ratty Antique office chair.

Do you Remember this old thing?

I knew I wanted to update her tired warn look to be modern, bright and bold. After seeing this Upholstered Chevron Print chair I knew I wanted to create a similar look.

I pulled what felt like a thousand upholstery tacks & nails, horse hair and foam that had disintegrated.

This was the end result  😦

I desperately needed some motivation so I took a trip to the fabric store to keep myself going. I came home with these fabulous Multi Coloured Chevron and Chocolate Velvet fabrics. I had a plan to use the Chocolate Velvet on the back and the Chevron on the seat and the front.

I used what remained of the well worn leather as a template to layout the fabric matching up the print for the top and seat of the armchair.

I added a single welting around the back of the chair to finish off the edge.

I pinned the Chocolate Velvet inside the welting to ensure proper placing before stapling it in place. To finishes her off I applied Nail Head trim to cover up the staples and add a little pizzazz. She came alive!

I love how this project turned out and how being bold with colour and fabric is such a fun way to update vintage dated pieces!

After a final inspection for comfort by Molly she was complete.

Stunning – AND I did it with a dated piece of furniture, fabric and paint!

I bet you will never look at a disregarded piece of furniture the same again.

Are you now a up-cycle believer now?
